On top of that there are the people capable of putting in the work who get discouraged before they see the fruits of their labor. Its something I see at the Keyword Academy occasionally, some of the members are more than capable of doing the work and understand the concepts being taught but they start to get disheartened when the money doesn’t start to come in quick enough. Thankfully there is enough support in the Keyword Academy that when their is a hint of this happening the troops rally and give pep talks to get people back on track.

What does this mean you? If you are struggling to make money Online then its down to either:

1. Your not working hard enough
2. You don’t know what you are doing
3. You haven’t been doing it long enough to see the results and are starting to wonder if its all going to work out.

After that rant I’ll give you an update for my Online earnings which I have been keeping to myself over the last few months due to being too busy to update this blog.

So here is a rough estimate of my affiliate and Adsense earnings for the last 3 months:

• August – $1100
• September – $1900
• October – $4000

When I started this blog way back in April my aim was to be making $50 a day by the 1st of July, something that I realize very quickly wasn’t realistic. Remember this was before I had even joined the Keyword Academy so I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing.

The thing is that by the time the 1st of July rolled round and I had just made $400 for June in Adsense I would never have believed it possible to be making over $4000 in October. So how did it happen? Well if you read the beginning of the post you will know it had something to do with:

1. Discovering what had to be done in terms of SEO to get search engine traffic and convert that into cash.
2. Working my ass off.
3. Doing 1 and 2 for long enough to see results.

Simples. But I have had another trick up my sleeve and that was that I got lucky. There are people at the Keyword academy that know the course material better than me and take just as much massive action as me, but the are still only making $100 in monthly earnings. I have no doubt that these members will eventually be making a fortune its just going to take them longer to see that big leap in income.

Apart from the luck factor there have been another couple of things that I can say have contributed to my recent success.

Well, like I have said I have worked damn hard the last few months, my social life is now almost non-existent and my laptop is my best friend but it feels like it has been worthwhile. I still feel like I have a load more to learn but I am getting there and every site I build feels easier than the last.

Another important factor has been moving away from Adsense to affiliate programs with high converting websites and high percentage payout. Obviously you can’t do this with all your sites but if you have some with traffic and there are suitable affiliate products out there I recommend playing around with this and seeing what you can achieve.

Right this post has been long enough and was only supposed to be a keyword rich earnings update, must get back to work.

I have to say, having someone do the content for the niche sites really allows me to focus and concentrate on the things that need to be done. My problem since I started trying to earn money with Google is getting sidetracked all too easily because their is just so much you need to do in the Make Money Online game if you want to succeed.

Joining the Keyword Academy and following the structure they set out has really helped along with learning to use Excel spreadsheets to organize my work. But having someone else to share the burden of work has been excellent, I suppose I’m starting to understand why serious Internet Marketers get so excited about outsourcing their work to other people and its something that I can see myself going a tonne in the future to make things easier.

Anyway I thought I would take ten minutes tonight to have a look and see how this site was doing in the Google search engine results pages. I’ve also been having a look at my statcounter traffic stats to see where my visitors have been coming from and trying to figure out a way to boost my traffic up a notch.

Google Traffic To Adsense Make Money Online

At the moment we’re getting about 35 unique visitors a day to this site which isn’t too bad considering I haven’t been promoting it very vigorously at all. I put the reason it has been moving up the Google search engine results pages down to the fact that it is starting to age more than because I have letting loose on it with my special ninja SEO skills.

From looking at the keyword analysis on statcounter and can see that I’m starting to rank for a reasonable number of longtail keywords related to earning money online and how to earn money with Adsense. We’re sitting at 8th to 15th in the SERPS for the following keywords:

Plan Of Action For This Site

I suppose if I want to make progress I am going to have to make a plan of action. Like I said I’m busy with other money making projects at the moment so I’m have to limit myself to about an hour a week on this blog which means I won’t be able to post much due to time constraints. I’m going to use all the time I have available to start getting quality backlinks from all available sources with anchor text that matches the keywords I am targeting.

A Word On Anchor Text

You should know that the anchor text used in the backlinks that link to your site is extremely important in how well you rank in Google and what keywords you rank for. Google uses the anchor text to try and figure out what your site is about so make sure you manipulate this fact to your advantage by getting people who link to your site to use relevant anchor text.

What Will I Do To Get Backlinks

I haven’t done much to publicize this blog since I set it up so there are plenty of things I can do to get extra backlinks. I’ll write a few articles for the likes of ezinearticles.com and maybe do a couple of hub pages. More importantly I’m going to try and find some friends in the earn money online niche who are interested in a link exchange. This is a quick and easy way of getting backlinks that won’t take up too much of my precious time.

The how to make money online “experts” who promise to give you the secrets to online business success are selling a dream that doesn’t exist. Getting your head down and making the success for yourself by working without reward for a few months is the way to long term Internet riches.

I Made A Mistake And I’m Sorry

Back when I started this blog I made a mistake for some reason that I can’t quite comprehend but which I must none the less take responsibility for. Justin over at SEO Zombie designs wordpress themes which he happens to be damn good at and when I was looking for a theme for this site a few months ago I happened to stumble over his blog and picked up a theme.

As I was putting together this site I took out the link back to Justin’s site which is in the footer of the page, not only that but to make matters worse I put a link in my second post saying that I had used his theme and make the link nofollow. For those of you who don’t know what a nofollow link is its simply a way of tagging a link to tell google not to follow the link to the page it points to. I basically did it to conserve the Google link juice of my site without realizing what I was doing. Justin put time and effort into building the theme that I used and the least he deserved for his time and expertise was for me to give him a link back to his site as a thank you.

Anyway, a couple of hours after I put my post up I got an email from Justin telling me what me what we thought about my actions and he was quite rightly a little pissed. As soon as I received the email I realized my mistake and corrected things by reinstating the link in the footer and making the link in my post to a “dofollow” link. I also sent him an email saying sorry and telling him I had rectified my mistake.

So why in God’s name am I writing about this today, 3 months later?

I was reading a thread in the Keyword Academy forum where some people were talking about removing links to the builders of wordpress theme. Lissie of Passive Income Online fame left a link to a post that Justin had made in which he talked about the incident where I had removed the link from this site. He called me a cockhead with no morals who deserved to have nuts crushed in a vice. lol, OK, he didn’t say that but he certainly wasn’t happy and had a rant about me being a jerk.

Read his Value Of Free post here and see for yourself. I found it quite funny reading about something I had done on someone else’s blog, felt like I was having my five minutes of fame. I totally understood Justin being angry although it would have been nice if he told his readers that I had apologized and instantly corrected my mistake.

In the world I live in people make mistakes all the time and the only thing I expect from someone who makes a blunder is that they correct it and try their best not to make the same mistake again. If they say sorry for their actions, so much the better.

But at the end of the day Justin has a right to feel however he wants towards me, what bugged me was that everyone that reads his bog ends up getting tremendously angry about something that had been a newbie mistake which I had done everything in my power to sort out when it was pointed out to me. If they had known that I had reinstated the links the instant I received the email from Justin and sent an apology would they still have wanted to slap me across the face with a dirty sock? Probably not!

It seems unfortunate that people out there in Internet land are going to get angry about something I’ve mistakingly done without hearing both sides of the story which may cause them to be suspicious of everyone they come into contact with online. I mean if everyone in the SEO and MMO world gets angry about all the thieving gypsies who are only out to help themselves then the Online world is going to become a less pleasant place to be. After all the best thing about trying to make money online is the fact that so many of us help each other out to get to where we want to be together.

Anyways that’s me had my own rant on the episode so we’ll leave it at that. I just had to get it off my chest and it gave me some content to fill up this post.

I started this challenge about six weeks ago with the aim of making money from Adsense so I could be stop spending every waking hour wondering how I was going to make a living without having to go back to working for someone else. At the time I didn’t have much of an idea about what direction my efforts would take me, other than having devoured much of Grizz’s writings over at his Make Money Online For Beginners website. Grizz’s articles gave me the drive I needed to commit myself to this game full time and the belief that it was possible to succeed. What I did find was that with all the information that was available on that site for free I started to get information overload and was wondering where to start on my journey.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, Grizz’s site pointed me in the direction of the Keyword Academy where I have really found everything I need to give my make money quest a push in the right direction. The plan of action set out at the Keyword Academy has allowed me to really concentrate on the things that matter without worrying about what I should be doing on any given day. I just blindly follow the advice of two guys who have been down this path before, as long as their theories are correct then I shall be counting a vast amount of pennies before long

Problems With My Approach To Making Money With Adsense

When I started this blog I had illusions of getting my Adsense Income to $50 a day by the 1st of July but I know realize I was being overly optimistic. It takes time for sites to mature and climb up the Google rankings so even if I turn out to be building sites that are successful, it will take a few months to see the returns.

For the moment I need to keep my head down and churn out the sites in the belief that the work I am doing now is going to turn into money in the future.

Mini Update On Adsense Income

My Adsense Income seems to be rising very slowly at the moment although at least things are moving in the right direction. What I can say on a positive note is that I feel like I’ve been putting some quality work into my niches both old and new over the last month. With any luck this concerted effort will start to pay dividends in a month or two.

Well, April was a bit of a let down as far as making money with adsense was concerned. I had server problems which I posted about earlier what cost me a few days of earnings on my documentary site then my loans site was dropped 100 places down the Google Search results for 3 weeks.

My sites are all back to normal now but results were affected and last months Adsense Money was down to a paltry $116. Not exactly the results I was looking for but I suppose this game is going to be filled with ups and downs.

On a positive note I’ve been following the Make Money with Adsense advice of Court and Mark over at the Keyword Academy and feel like I’m making good progress. I’ve started sites in 4 more niches this month: exercise, coffee, kitchen and insurance. Its going to take a while to be able to tell if my efforts have been worthwhile but it feels like I’m getting somewhere. Hopefully by July I’ll start getting some Adsense income from the new sites.

What’s Required To Make Money Online

My plan of action regarding making money online has really changed recently as I become aware of the hard work that is required to make it in this game. There are no shortcuts to make money online like we all dream of. What we need to do if find a way to make money that has actually proven to work in the past and follow that religiously until we start to make money. The problem is that we are unwilling to put in the required work without seeing results for a few months, but the reality is that online money doesn’t just start flooding in after you throw up a few crappy websites.

We all need to realign our beliefs about what is required to make money online. We need to put serious amounts of work into our sites, then we need to allow them to mature and let Google build up a little trust in our sites. We have to build content, build support sites, work our ass off getting as many backlinks to our sites as we can. Making money online is not glamorous and its not easy, at least not to begin with. Hopefully by the time you’ve been working your fingers to the bone for 12 months you’ll begin to see the fruits of your labor and your sites will start to generate you some nice passive income.

Making Money Online Is All About Quantity Not Quality

I used to dream of building a website and sitting back and watching the money roll in, but I’ve come to realize that if you want to have a good chance of making money online you need to build a mountain of sites. Some of of your sites will make you no money, some will make a few dollars a month and if you lucky you’ll end up with a few sites that put real cash in your pocket.

So if you want make money online stop playing at it and get real. Put in the hours required, build as many sites as you can following good keyword research and learn how to optimize your sites for the search engines. The more I learn the more I realize that SEO is more about building backlinks than anything else so building networks of friends who can help you out with links when you need them is going to be worth pursuing over the long run.

A final note: I really feel like I’m starting to see the light with regards to making money online. This could be a false dawn of course but I can see that I have learned a great deal in the last few months and even if the sites I’m building at the moment don’t turn out to be winners none of this will be wasted time. My SEO skills may not be the best on planet yet but I’m improving all the time. When July rolls round I think I’ll have enough skills with search engine optimization that I should have the ability to, at the very least, offer SEO services to business who don’t have a clue what they are doing online. Regardless of what happens, I’m determined not to find myself back in a J.O.B. any time soon.

I just felt like I was single-handedly filling up the Internet with an ever increasing amount of regurgitated information in an effort to get people to click on my links.

The only area where I’ve seen a consistent income online has been from adsense which currently makes me $100 a month. Ironically most of my adsense income comes from a site I built just for fun in a niche with a very low cost per click, but with 45,000 page hits a month it has turned into a reasonable earner. With this in mind I’ve decided to dedicate more time to creating a number of websites with the intention of increasing my adsense income to an amount that would pay the mortgage. Along the way I’d like to share what I learn with anyone that’s interested, allowing others to make progress with their own online money making efforts.
